Knitting disaster I was hoping to have finished the first sock last evening...well...about eight rows from finishing I realised that I had one too many stitches...ended up ripping the whole thing back...but I will triumph...eventually!

Knitting up a errrr....sock!

Though I've done loads and loads of knitting, I can't ever remember knitting socks...though I remember my Mother knitting some. If at first you don't succeed then rip it back and start again...first time around I thought S1k1 for the heel was a misprint only to realise afterwards that it wasn' off the needles it looking very swish if I do say so myself. I hope to finish sock no. 1 later and will post a photo when complete. I hope to paint the soles of them with puff paint so I can wear them safely around the house without other footwear...we shall see!

Back again

And this is what I'm working on...

A pair of hopefully very snugly socks for me...having succumbed to a bout of tonsillitis am feeling rather sorry for myself. I'm knitting with sublime baby cashmere merino silk dk...just aaah!

So what have you been up to? Do tell...

A rewarding job

Been absent for a few days from this blog...truth be told I'm bloomin well knackered, having started my care workers job this week. Having done the initial training, I'm now out there and really learning. Sleep has been elusive to me after three am most mornings , as there is so much new information rattling around in my head, but I've met some truly lovely people and hope that a sort of routine will allow sleep to get back to normal soon.
So what has everyone else been up to. I have just received some hexagon quilt cutters, and am excited to settle down to some quilting from thrifted fabrics. Fun fun fun!
The sun is out today, shining beautifully and showing me just how dirty our windows really are, also isn't Candlemas day supposed to be halfway through winter, and if it's fine and sunny we still have winter weather to come ahead. Oh well, cold and crisp has got to beat dull and dank any day.
until next time,
J. xx
